DISTRICT 4 CITY COUNCIL

A Fighter for the People
Born in rural Gates County, NC, Will Holley knows what it means to come from humble beginnings. Growing up poor, he learned early on from his grandmother to embrace the idea that "a little can be a whole lot when you have nothing." Raised in a small community with limited opportunities and scarce resources, he is no stranger to struggle—but more importantly, he knows the power of resilience, determination, and will to create a better future.
In 2008, Will moved to Charlotte o find better opportunities for himself and his family. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to uplift those around him, creating pathways for success and ensuring that no one has to fight their battles alone. His mission has always been clear—to build a stronger, safer community where everyone has the right to live with dignity and a real opportunity for success.
Now, he’s ready to take that same grit, perseverance, and unshakable resolve to City Hall—fighting to ensure that every youth, adult, and senior in District Four has the support they deserve and a voice that will never be ignored.
Turning Pain Into Purpose
Will Holley knows what it feels like to have his voice ignored—which is why he is committed to ensuring no one in District Four ever feels the same.
One of the most defining moments of his life was the heartbreaking loss of the oldest of his three sons to suicide. It was a tragedy that shook him to his core and exposed the devastating gaps in the city and state’s mental health systems.
“The system told us they would be there, but they weren’t. The programs in place weren’t effective because they weren’t implemented with care or consistency. My son, and so many others, deserved better."
Rather than allowing his grief to silence him, Will turned his pain into purpose. He became an advocate for youth, determined to fight for better mental health resources, stronger community support systems, and equitable access to funding for programs run by trained, passionate professionals. This commitment to action led him to step into leadership roles where he could make a tangible difference.
A Leader Who Steps Up, Not Back
In 2020, Determined to continually effect change in his community, Will Holley got involved with his local Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in 2022, where he was ultimately elected PTA President. There, he saw firsthand how lack of funding and awareness of available resources left too many kids without the support they needed.
Instead of standing by, he stepped up—filling in the gaps, advocating for funding, and ensuring that families knew where to turn to get the resources they needed. But his passion for service didn’t stop there.
Today, he: Owns and successfully operates Holley Construction, creating jobs and economic opportunities in the community.Sits on the Public Relations Committee for the Mecklenburg County Commissioner's Office, working to improve communication between local government and the people it serves.Champions policies that uplift families improve access to education, and expand mental health resources for at-risk youth and underserved communities.
The Path to Change Starts Here-Because will is the way
For far too long, District Four has been overlooked, underfunded, and unheard. Will Holley is running for City Council to change that.
He understands the struggles of working families, seniors, and young people just trying to survive—but he also believes survival isn’t enough.
“We deserve a community where families can thrive, children are supported, and every person—no matter their background—has a real chance at success and to live with dignity. That’s the future I’m fighting for. If you’re ready for change, then let’s build it together. Follow the path forward—because Will is the way."
